Before a project conversation: gather what you already have
A useful first step is to put the information you already have in one place.
Write a short description of what you want to change. Gather any existing drawings, property records, and earlier city correspondence. Note which questions those documents leave unanswered.
Keep assumptions visible. An old drawing or online record is a starting point for a conversation, not a promise about what can be built.
